Extended Access Support

Extended Access Support

National Primary Care Services (NPCS) partners with practices and Primary Care Networks to deliver high-quality extended access services, ensuring patients can be seen in the evenings, at weekends, and on bank holidays in line with NHS England requirements.

How we support you:

📅 Service Design & Planning – We work with practices and PCNs to design extended access models that are practical, sustainable, and meet local demand. This includes rota management, clinic scheduling, and capacity planning.

👩‍⚕️ Workforce Supply – NPCS provides a flexible and reliable workforce, including GPs, pharmacists, nurses, and allied health professionals, to ensure clinics are fully staffed and patients receive the right care at the right time.

🤝 Collaboration & Integration – We ensure extended access services are joined up with local practices, urgent care, and wider NHS pathways, providing a seamless experience for patients and reducing duplication of work.

Our focus:

NPCS ensures extended access delivery is efficient, compliant, and patient-centred. We reduce the administrative and staffing burden on practices, improve patient satisfaction, and help PCNs meet contractual requirements with confidence.
